The Padilla portfolio is chock full of high-profile blends equipped with 90+ ratings and top honors. Blends like Miami, Signature 1932, and the small-batch wonders Obsidian and Achilles. Despite maintaining a generous chunk of the high-end market, Ernesto took it upon himself to produce a quality handmade without the hefty price tag, battling the recent trend of rising cigar prices (read: taxes). Introducing Padilla Cazadores. Handmade in in Honduras, Cazadores combines a dark and oily Habano Ecuador wrapper with aged long-fillers grown throughout Nicaragua. The smoke is heavy on the palate, coating each side with a lengthy, enjoyable finish with sweet undertones. Notes of coffee and chocolate are present, complementing the creamy plumes of smoke nicely with each puff. A spicy note creeps in midway and sticks around down to the nub, adding another level of complexity to this medium-bodied handmade from Padilla.
